Document Metadata
Configure metadata in generated DOCX and PDF files.
Document metadata helps your organization identify files generated by talentkiwi. External tools can use these values to detect, search, sort, or process documents according to your organization's rules.
talentkiwi writes the configured metadata into the final exported file.
Only organization administrators can manage document metadata.
Accessing document settings
Open Organization > Document settings.
Settings are divided into:
- Organization defaults: Metadata applied across the organization.
- Document overrides: Different metadata rules for individual document templates.
Changes are saved automatically. The status beside the tabs shows when changes are saving, saved, invalid, or could not be saved.
Organization defaults
DOCX and PDF metadata can be enabled and configured independently.
For example, your organization can:
- Add
TalentKiwias the author of every DOCX file. - Add
TalentKiwias the creator and producer of every PDF. - Add keywords used by your organization's document rules.
- Enable metadata for PDF while leaving DOCX metadata disabled.
Coordinate the exact values with your IT or compliance team so they match your organization's requirements.
Document overrides
Use document overrides when a specific template requires different metadata.
- Open Document overrides.
- Select a document template.
- Configure DOCX and PDF independently.
- Choose how each property should behave:
- Inherit: Use the organization default.
- Override: Use a different value for this template.
- Clear: Remove the inherited value.
- Use Remove override to restore all organization defaults for the selected template.
The format status also supports Inherit, Enabled, and Disabled.
